Depositing XRP to an exchange: The address is definitely correct, so why hasn’t it arrived?
My understanding: A Memo / Tag is just a note for the recipient. The blockchain doesn’t check whether it’s correct, so the transfer will still go through even if you enter it incorrectly.
The XRP Ledger allows receiving accounts to enable a “destination tag required” setting. When enabled, transfers without a tag will be rejected.
What I do: The first time I deposit to an address that requires a Memo, I send a small amount first to check whether it arrives.
When depositing $XRP to an exchange, you usually need to enter both the address and the destination tag (Tag).
