Why with a coin like PEPE, I only dare to short and not go long.
In the past 24 hours, it’s down 0.81%. During the meme coin sentiment pullback phase, the selling speed is even faster than when it was pumping. It has no staking rewards, no ecosystem support. When it rises, it’s all driven by sentiment—once sentiment fades, it’s a full-on A-kill.
Recently I opened a 2x short position, with the stop-loss set above the high point from 30 days ago. The risk-reward ratio is 1.67:1. I’m not saying it will go to zero, but bounces like this are an opportunity for shorts.

My take: SOL is good for taking a small position to chase high volatility and upside, but the swings are real—±10% in a day is common. Position management matters more than coin selection.
