Two numbers this week decide the direction of everything — $BTC , stocks, your portfolio. 📅 Wednesday: July CPI — consensus +0.1% MoM after June's -0.4%; core expected +0.2% MoM and 2.5% YoY, the smallest annual print since February. 📅 Thursday: July PPI — last month came in at 5.5% YoY. The setup is delicate: • Friday's payrolls shocked — July NFP fell 23,000, the first negative print in a long while. That already dented the "hike" camp, yet the Fed sits at 3.75% with three officials voting for a hike at the July 29 meeting. • Citi says a second straight soft CPI basically rules out a September hike. BofA warns a rebound in core services could keep it on the table. • Energy is the wildcard — gasoline climbed back above $4/gallon by month-end after cooling early in July. The market is already front-running: BTC above $65k , S&P at record highs, $850M+ of weekly ETF inflows. Translation: soft numbers are mostly priced in — a hot print is what actually breaks things. Simple real-world logic: inflation is just the price at the market stall. If the everyday basket stops getting more expensive, the Fed has no reason to squeeze.
