Dormant Bitcoin Whale Wakes Up After 10 Years as Price Hits $69,000 ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐โ
According to on-chain data, a long-dormant Bitcoin whale suddenly resurfaced as Bitcoin (BTC) briefly touched $69,000. ๐ฅ
A Bitcoin wallet that had been dormant for over 10 years has now been reactivated, according to blockchain data tracker Whale Alert: โA dormant address holding 25 BTC worth $1,711,020 has been reactivated after 10.8 years.โ ๐ฅ
The wallet, which held 25 BTC, was worth around $1.71 million when it was activated. The wallet has not made any transactions since 2013, when Bitcoin was worth a fraction of its current value. At the time, BTC was priced below $1,000, making this whaleโs holdings extremely valuable given the rapid rise in Bitcoinโs value over the past decade. ๐ฅ
The timing of this whaleโs reactivation coincides with Bitcoinโs brief rally to $69,000, a level last reached in July of this year. Although BTC was unable to maintain this price and retreated slightly, it is still up 0.67% on the day over the past 24 hours to $68,392. $BTC ๐ฅ
