The historic cryptocurrency bill from the Senate is stuck in limbo with recess just two days away. Majority Leader John Thune has not yet filed the procedural vote needed to move it forward.
According to reports, ethical concerns about Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency companies are holding up the Senate Clarity Act.
Senators Ruben Gallego and Thom Tillis sent an ethical commitment to the White House last week. Democrats want enforcement by state attorneys general and no sunset clause.
Meanwhile, TD Cowen’s Managing Director, Jaret Seiberg, said the Senate could fall short by 10 votes of the 60 needed to advance the Clarity Act in the Senate. He called a vote before recess unlikely, citing the expected objection from Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
