ETH is currently around $2,415. In the past 24 hours, it first rose and then fell: the intraday high reached $2,548, then it gave back about 3.8% and dropped to around $2,415. This week’s cumulative gain is as high as 33.7%, outperforming BTC over the same period (+23%). Starting from $1,800 on Monday, within less than a week it surged by more than $600—this is ETH’s craziest week in the past year.

▸ Resistance above: $2,545-2,548 (today’s high) → $2,625-2,750 (Fibonacci extension zone)

BTC sprint to 80K falls just short! 79,500 touched the top and pulled back—false breakout or a bear trap?
Yesterday’s “touchstone” was hit today
Yesterday’s post said, “77,700 is the touchstone—look for a breakout to 80K–83K; if it can’t hold, it will retrace to 72,500.” Today BTC indeed broke above 77,700 and surged all the way to 79,500… but it couldn’t hold, and it retreated to $77,174. This is exactly the most classic “breakout then retest” pattern—so the question is: is this a healthy pullback to build momentum, or a false-breakout signal?
📌 My view
The trend is slightly bullish, but the failure at the 79,500 top is a clear sign: the fuel for a short-squeeze rally is running out.
Scenario A (pullback to build strength → another push): Consolidation near 77,000 with declining volume, RSI cooling down to 60–70, and then a healthy second attack toward 80,000. A breakout and firm hold above 80K with increased volume = confirmation of a reversal in the year’s downtrend, opening up space toward 84,000;

BTC surges to 76,900! Just ahead of 77,700! We’ll know tonight
Three signals—before chasing higher prices, you must think it through
1️⃣ RSI has already jumped to 83+; this is deep into overbought territory, and the need for a technical pullback is steadily building;
2️⃣ ETF inflows are clearly slowing: net inflows of 517.2 million on 8/19 (the largest since early May) → on 8/20, after a big up day, it dropped sharply to just 103 million. On a surge day, institutions actually slowed down—within this rally, the share of "forced buying" and active traders is not low. New ETF capital did not keep pace;
3️⃣ The 300-EMA is this year’s "iron curtain": since January, price has been pinned under this line. The historical probability that a first touch leads to a truly effective breakout is not high.
My view
There’s no doubt the uptrend is bullish, but above $77,000 is not a good spot to chase longs.

ETH climbs for five straight days and breaks $2,300 to hit a new three-month high! But right in front is that “wall” that killed the previous two rounds of rallies.
But three signals are flashing red.
1️⃣ RSI spikes to 81–85, extremely overbought. After five consecutive up days, there hasn’t been a meaningful pullback—technically, pullback demand is building;
2️⃣ 24-hour momentum has turned negative (-0.58%), suggesting that chasing buyers at higher levels are starting to hesitate, and profit-taking may already be underway;
3️⃣ The moving averages’ bullish alignment hasn’t formed (0/3). Short-term MAs are still tangled, so trend confirmation still needs time.

▸ Overhead resistance: 2,380−2,400∗∗ (the current base of the wall) → 2,426-2,500 (the dense supply zone in April) → 2,636 → 2,800

🎯 Key levels: One gateway, two worlds
Overhead resistance: 70,283–70,531 (the February lows + multi-trendline convergence zone, currently being tested) → 71,402 → after a breakout, look to 74,434–76,159
Lower support: 66,284 breakthrough level; if it’s retested and holds (healthy) → $64,300 (if it breaks, the breakout thesis is invalid)
📌 My view
Bias is bullish, but timing matters more than direction.
In one sentence: 70,300–71,400 is this “door.” If it holds, the sky’s the limit; if it doesn’t, the pullback is a chance to get in—not a sell-off/escape signal. At this point, chasing longs isn’t as good as waiting for a pullback.

If it breaks out with volume and holds above 1,952, ETH could lead the way to open up the $2,000 range; if 1,880 is lost, then the range floor at 1,845 would face another test. Short term is bullish, but it needs volume confirmation—don’t chase gains before the breakout.
