The interesting part isn’t the size of today’s decline.
It’s why the market is reacting.
Renewed U.S.–Iran military action has pushed oil prices higher, adding another inflation risk just as markets digest Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s hawkish Jackson Hole message.
That creates a difficult combination for risk assets:
Bitcoin entered today around the $80K area after a powerful weekly advance.
The important part now isn't predicting the next candle — it's watching how the market responds to today's major catalysts. Market snapshot: ₿ $BTC : ~ $79.7K ♦ $ETH : ~ $2.5K 🟡 $BNB : ~ $711
The market is dealing with several major variables: • Jackson Hole: Fed Chair Kevin Warsh emphasized inflation and signaled that further policy action remains possible. • BTC options: roughly $6.4B in Bitcoin options expired today. • $80K: Bitcoin has repeatedly interacted with this psychological area during the current move. After the speech, BTC briefly fell below $78K before recovering toward the $79K area.
The key question isn't whether BTC can touch $80K. It's whether the market can hold strength around it after the macro shock passes.
Your take: Is $80K becoming support — or is it still resistance?
CRYPTO CHECK: BTC HOLDS NEAR $78K Latest verified snapshot: $BTC : $78,397 | +0.97% $ETH : $2,468 | +0.32% $BNB : $696 | +2.97% BTC remains near the $78K area while BNB is showing the strongest 24-hour move of the three in this snapshot. CoinMarketCap +2 Today's macro data is also important: Q2 real GDP: +1.5% annualized July PCE inflation: +3.7% YoY July core PCE: +3.3% YoY Personal income: +0.4% Real PCE: essentially flat month-over-month. Bureau of Economic Analysis +1 The bigger question now is whether crypto's momentum can persist while inflation remains above the Fed's target. BNB CHAIN INTELLIGENCE: PASTEUR IS LIVE The BNB Smart Chain Pasteur hard fork activated today at 02:30 UTC. Three areas matter: 01 — BRIDGE SECURITY Pasteur includes changes designed to reject duplicate bridge validators. 02 — VALIDATOR RELIABILITY The upgrade adds infrastructure supporting builder-proposed blocks and validator blind signing. 03 — THROUGHPUT BNB Chain's testing showed a substantial increase in transaction throughput under controlled conditions. But there's an important distinction: A testnet benchmark is not a guarantee of identical mainnet performance. The real question now is whether developers and applications actually convert the infrastructure improvements into greater network usage. That is a much stronger signal than simply watching $BNB move. What would convince you that Pasteur is economically important for BNB — higher throughput, more users, more applications, or higher on-chain activity? $BNB NB $BTC $ETH #BNBChain #BNB #Blockchain #CryptoEducation #Binance #WealthEngine
TUESDAY CRYPTO CHECK: BTC IS BACK ABOVE $79K Latest verified snapshot: 🟠 $BTC ~$79,302 | +1.89% 🔵 $ETH ~$2,483 | +0.82% 🟡 $BNB ~$698 | +0.38% CoinMarketCap +2 The important part isn't simply that BTC is higher. It's what comes next. Tomorrow brings: 📊 U.S. GDP — Aug. 26 📊 Personal Income & Outlays / PCE — Aug. 26 🏦 Jackson Hole — Aug. 28 Bureau of Economic Analysis +1 So this week's market question is becoming: Can crypto maintain momentum while macro data starts testing the liquidity narrative? BNB also has a crypto-native catalyst today: Pasteur is now live on BNB Smart Chain. Which matters more for the next move? A — Macro B — Institutional flows C — BNB ecosystem catalysts D — Market structure Drop your answer and explain why.
#dusk $DUSK @Dusk Dusk didn’t rush. Phase 1 of the incentivized testnet ended in December 2022, with more than 600 provisionrs and nearly 2,000 registrations. And then what? Silence. There was no discussion of mainnet until the end of September 2024. The first real block didn’t happen until January 7, 2025. and think about that. Years of working on the testnet before there was a single production block. Most chains launch first and fix later. Dusk went the other way. That tells you who they’re building for. Regulators and traditional finance don’t accept the mindset of “launch now and fix later.” A settlement failure implies legal exposure, compliance issues, and damage that lingers for years. Dusk’s team understood this before most people even found crypto.
#dusk $DUSK @Dusk Hmm, honestly: One day, while looking for an old bank transaction document, I found myself wondering: is it really necessary to have all transaction information in front of everyone? The question is definitely worth thinking about. Isn’t it? Yes, but in some cases it’s absolutely necessary. Suppose everyone can see where the money from a public treasury went. Here the real issue is transparency. Dusk’s Moonlight model is kind of like that: sender, recipient, and amount; everything is public. But now suppose I’m carrying out a large financial transaction on behalf of an organization. The transaction is legal, there are sufficient funds, but I don’t want my balance or how much money I sent to be on the internet; I don’t want it, because it’s as uncomfortable as a security matter. And that’s why the Phoenix model caught my attention even more. Here, the funds are in encrypted notes and a Zero-Knowledge Proof can be used to prove that the transaction is correct, but there’s no need to disclose all the information to everyone. This is where the topic seems pretty strange to me. And the most important point is that privacy doesn’t mean complete obscurity. If needed, the Viewing Key can be used to show specific information to regulators or auditors. It’s pretty fascinating, isn’t it?
After an extremely volatile week, which factor matters most now?
A — MACRO & LIQUIDITY
Treasury yields, dollar strength and Fed expectations.
B — INSTITUTIONAL DEMAND
ETF flows, corporate treasuries and larger allocations.
C — ALTCOIN ROTATION
XRP, ADA, DOT and other assets outperforming BTC.
D — MARKET STRUCTURE
Support levels, volume, leverage, liquidations and positioning.
Bitcoin’s recent rally was supported by a combination of Treasury-market developments, regulatory optimism, institutional demand and short covering. The next phase needs to be judged on what actually persists after the initial move.
📚 CRYPTO EDUCATION: WHY A BIG RALLY NEEDS CONFIRMATION
A sharp price increase tells us what happened.
It doesn’t automatically tell us why the move will continue.
After a rapid rally, study:
1️⃣ Spot volume — is real buying participating? 2️⃣ Open interest — are leverage positions rebuilding? 3️⃣ Liquidations — was the move amplified by forced buying? 4️⃣ ETF flows — is institutional demand continuing? 5️⃣ Price action afterward — does the market hold higher levels?
This week’s Bitcoin rally was helped by short covering, while ETF flows and macro developments also became important parts of the story.
Which indicator would you study first when deciding whether a crypto rally has staying power?
