Someone asked: Why is it difficult for public blockchains to achieve speed, security, and decentralization all at once?
I usually answer like this: EVM-compatible public blockchains can run Ethereum-format contracts directly, such as BNB Smart Chain and Avalanche’s C-Chain. The more distributed the validator nodes are, the more messages they need to exchange to reach consensus, making it harder to improve performance. That’s exactly why these three goals constrain one another.
