When real-world assets are tokenized and can be used as collateral, DeFi has the chance to move closer to traditional credit markets. But I still maintain the necessary skepticism: tokenization of assets is only the first step. The more important questions are liquidity, legal considerations, and the risk-handling mechanisms when real-world assets run into problems. TermMax has a noteworthy direction, but proving its long-term value will still take time.

What made me think when researching Babylon Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) isn’t the ability to stake BTC, but the fact that they’re willing to introduce the concept of slashing into a system tied to Bitcoin.
