I. My outlook for the market: a shift from bearish to bullish, but first a period of consolidation
Maintaining my view that the market is shifting from bearish to bullish: ETH is repeatedly forming a base in the $2,300–$2,600 range. Below, $2,300 is a support zone with concentrated positioning (Put wall OI: 25,662); above, $2,600 is the Call wall (OI: 37,701).
We’re currently in a “consolidation phase ahead of an event vacuum”: the October 26 upgrade test and the October 28 Fed decision are two potential catalysts for a market turn, but I’m bullish on the medium-term outlook. My strategy is to keep selling options for premium income and dollar-cost averaging into positions at lower levels—not chasing prices or holding unhedged long positions.

US stock earnings reports keep coming one after another, and US stock volatility has picked up too—perfect for short-term swing trading.
I’m getting ready to buy $NVDAB in US stocks, since it’s lower than my previous swing-trading entry points. I bought Nvidia spot; you can handle letting it fall as much as it wants, because it’ll eventually come back up.
I tried buying low with US stock options $AAL.US , just to get a feel for it. The capital efficiency was too low. Trading $ETH options is still much more comfortable!

Considering the 10/15 flying Roadster car launch event,
and Musk tweeting on 10/19 that he wants to give American kids stock,
does this suggest that Musk is deliberately—or inadvertently—managing the market cap,
using seemingly cool high-tech announcements, stock giveaways, and other positive news to draw attention when the share price is underperforming,
as a kind of hedging strategy?
So earnings will probably have a hard time beating expectations.
Of course, big swings are sure to arrive as expected; options are pricing in 7% volatility.
I’ll buy one contract now and sell before earnings, whether it goes up or not!

What do options sellers fear most?

It’s not getting assigned. It’s selling a Put without having thought through what to do if you actually get assigned.

Many people who sell Puts only focus on the moment the premium hits their account.

When the market goes up, they think they’re trading pros. When it goes down and they get assigned, they start panicking and cutting their losses.

But to me, the core logic of selling Puts is simple:

If I’m already willing to buy ETH at a certain price, selling a Put lets me earn premium while waiting for an opportunity to buy.

Of course, that only works if your position size and funds can withstand further declines.

📌 First, let’s review this trade

My ETH Put sale:

🔹 Expiration date: October 15
🔹 Strike price: 2,400
🔹 Settlement price at expiration: 2,374
🔹 Position size: 1.18
🔹 Premium received: 8

Since the settlement price was below the strike price, the option was assigned.

Loss: (2,400 - 2,374) × 1.18 - 8 = 22.68

🧠 1. Getting assigned doesn’t mean the trade thesis is over

If your reason for selling a Put was that you wanted to buy ETH at 2,400, then after getting assigned, you should reassess your position plan instead of focusing only on the loss.

What I did:

✅ Bought 1.18 ETH at the settlement price of 2,374.

(2,400 × 1.18 - 8) ÷ 1.18 ≈ 2,393.22 U/ETH

In other words, after factoring in the 8 U premium received, the effective cost of this ETH is about 2,393.22 U/ETH.

That’s one of the benefits of selling Puts: you can wait for a price at which you’re willing to buy, collect premium in the meantime, and lower your effective cost basis.

💡 2. Next, I’m considering using a Covered Call to manage the position

Now that I hold 1.18 ETH with a cost basis of 2,393, I could consider selling a Call (a Covered Call) to keep earning premium.

Of course, selling Calls isn’t a no-brainer way to collect income—it means giving up some potential upside in exchange for premium. I’ll keep sharing my moves as they happen!
