Because a competitor’s report is sometimes a free chunk of information about the entire sector.
If SanDisk talks about NAND, memory prices, AI data centers, or demand growth, investors immediately adjust their expectations for Micron as well. The company might not say a single new word for a day, yet its valuation changes.

August 5, Binance added 10 bStocks, including ASMLB, NFLXB and SMCIB, to the collateral assets in Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin for users who meet the access requirements.
At first glance — just a new feature. But now a drop in the underlying share price can affect not only the token price, but the condition of the entire margin position.
For example: ASML falls → ASMLB gets cheaper → the collateral value decreases → the liquidation risk increases.
An important detail: having collateral status does not mean that these bStocks allow borrowing. They only can support another position in the available Margin types.
For me, the takeaway is simple: on top of the risk of the stock itself, another risk appears — collateral risk.
