😭 Someone opened a 25x leveraged short on about $33 million worth of $ETH in the early hours—and got liquidated 4 times in a single day. Even more painful: not long after the 4th liquidation, ETH reversed course… 📌 Hyperliquid on-chain data (address 0xb15b…dbae): • Started shorting around 13,800 ETH near $2,366 from 00:17 on 10/19, with about $1.252 million in margin • Partially liquidated 4 times in a row at 07:27, 09:08, 10:49, and 15:34, with realized losses of about $469,000 • ETH surged to around $2,446 at 17:30 before pulling back; it’s now around $2,421. His remaining 5,663-ETH short is still open, with a liquidation price of about $2,452.8 and account equity of about $450,000 💭 My take: The direction wasn’t necessarily wrong—the mistake was using 25x leverage. By the time the pullback finally came after 4 liquidations, more than 60% of his capital was already gone. If you were him, what would you do? 😅 Machi Big Brother closed 590 long positions at a loss in the early hours of the morning—$ETH —losing about $36,000… Then after daybreak, he bought back in, and bought even more. Hyperliquid on-chain data (as of 10/19 11:57 UTC+8): • Between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m., ETH fell to around 2,330. 😭 The whale who went long with 40x leverage on $BTC last night finally gave up. Then, about an hour later, he turned around and went long on Tesla… 📌 Hyperliquid on-chain data (address 0x30af…6393e): • Between 00:17 and 05:12 on 10/19, he gradually closed all of his roughly 1,356 BTC long position at an average exit price of about $80,945, realizing a loss of around $1.31 million (he was not liquidated). • Starting at 06:19, he opened a 20x long on Tesla (TSLA) stock perpetuals, worth about $34.5 million. Including SOXL and DRAM, his total stock-contract positions are around $45.8 million. • His average BTC entry price was about $81,914. 😱 Machi Big Brother was just liquidated this morning, and 15 minutes later… he opened another long position on $ETH ? Hyperliquid on-chain data (as of 10/18, 21:00 UTC+8): • This morning from 5:32–5:38, about 3,400 ETH in long positions were liquidated • He opened another long at 5:53, then transferred in about 50,000 USDC at 5:16 p.m. to add to his position • He currently holds a 2,000 ETH long position with 25x cross leverage. The liquidation price is about $2,378—less than 2% below the current price A year ago, his Hyperliquid account showed peak profits of about $44.84 million. His cumulative historical P&L is now around -$36.84 million. My take: With 25x leverage, ETH needs to fall less than 2% for him to be liquidated.
