Last night, I spent some time looking through the market and watching how BTC was moving. It got me thinking about something simple: when BTC starts moving fast, knowing your borrowing cost in advance can make a leveraged position easier to plan. That’s one reason I find @TermMax interesting. Its fixed-rate, fixed-term model gives borrowers more certainty over financing costs. But that certainty has limits. The rate can be locked while the collateral price still moves sharply. Liquidity can change, and liquidation risk doesn’t disappear. So I wouldn’t call fixed-rate borrowing “safe” by default. It simply removes one source of uncertainty: the cost of capital. The rest of the trade still needs to be managed. #TermMax
The easiest mistake on @TermMax right now is seeing a ~3.5% Borrow APR and assuming: “I can lend at 3.5%.” My latest snapshot tells a different story. Several tokenized-stock markets show 2.50% Lend APR vs 3.50% Borrow APR, with visible borrowing demand. But on the lending side, some markets still show only “Place order” rather than ready-to-take liquidity. For example: • USDT → NVDAon: 2.50% Lend / 3.50% Borrow • USDT → GOOGlon: 2.50% / 3.50% • USDT → TSLAon: 2.50% / 3.50% • USDT → NFLXon: 2.50% / 3.50% Meanwhile, the RLUSD → USPC markets show 2.94% and 1.99% Lend APR, but no displayed Borrow APR. That distinction matters. Borrow APR is a quote for borrowers. It does not mean your capital can be deployed at that rate immediately. A Lend order can sit unmatched. Waiting for a counterparty is not the same as fixed-rate execution. So I’d read the screen backwards: Lend depth → maturity → execution → APR A rate on the screen is not liquidity. $99M TVL doesn’t mean $99M of liquidity is waiting for you.
That’s something worth remembering when looking at @TermMax . In my Aug. 18 snapshot, USDT/TSLAon had only ~49 USDT on the Lend side, while Borrow demand was around 154K USDT. Several other bStocks markets showed a similar imbalance.
So what’s happening? TermMax liquidity is spread across different assets, maturities, collateral and markets. A large protocol TVL doesn’t automatically mean deep liquidity in the specific market you want to enter.
That’s why I’d look at two numbers differently: TVL = how big the protocol is. Market depth = how much you can actually execute.
For fixed-rate markets, the second one may matter a lot more when sizing a position. Big protocol. Different story at market level. #TermMax
A points program usually feels simple until the moment users need to understand what those points actually mean. That’s where @TermMax and Beldex are creating two very different kinds of decision pressure right now. TermMax has confirmed an Aug. 25 TMX TGE and stated that XP, AP, and MP rewards will be claimable at TGE. However, allocation details, vesting conditions, and staking options are still expected before then, and the available information does not include a clear points-to-token conversion formula. So the uncertainty has shifted. The question is no longer simply whether the TGE is happening. It’s increasingly about how accumulated points will actually be treated. Beldex Points operate under a different structure. Its Loyalty Program rewards users for social tasks, daily check-ins, and referrals, with points contributing to leaderboard participation and eligibility for airdrops or other incentives. There is no equivalent concentrated TGE conversion window in the information provided. At the same time, Beldex has been giving users another type of signal. Its Native Chain to BNB Smart Chain bridge went live on Aug. 7 following Hacken penetration testing and remediation, while the network was showing roughly 3,100 active masternodes on Aug. 14. That difference matters because users don’t evaluate every points system based on the same criteria. When points are approaching a specific token event, allocation, conversion, and vesting details naturally become the main focus. When a reward system isn’t tied to a single conversion date, infrastructure reliability and network activity can play a much larger role in building trust. Points can attract attention. Clear rules tell users what that attention is worth, while reliable infrastructure gives them a reason to keep paying attention after the campaign ends. #TermMax
@TermMax Season 0 is now showing 4/4 phases completed — Now Unlocking. The important word here is “unlocking,” not “unlocked.” The RLUSD Deposit campaign shows 5M TMX, while TermMax states that pre-mined TMX rewards will become claimable after TGE. However, the whitepaper still lists TGE as TBA, and there is currently no published general formula explaining how XP/AP/MP converts into TMX. So, 4/4 means completion, not a confirmed payout amount. We still don't know what one point is worth or what each user's final allocation will be. More activity can increase your score, but it cannot make unpublished payout rules certain. What I'm watching next: what “Now Unlocking” actually unlocks, how the allocation is calculated, and when claims officially open. For now, the points are visible.
