🇺🇸 The bill aiming to enshrine a strategic BTC reserve in law is set to be reviewed on Wednesday in committee in the House of Representatives.

The bill, H.R. 8957, dubbed the American Reserve Modernization Act of 2026, was introduced on May 21. It seeks in particular to legally establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, to transparently regulate the bitcoins held by the federal government, and to provide mechanisms to fund its operations.

Of course, this step does not mean that the bill has been adopted. The committee review allows lawmakers to study the text, propose amendments, and possibly decide whether it should continue through the legislative process. But politically, the symbol is powerful. Bitcoin is no longer just being discussed as an asset to be regulated; it is now debated in Congress as a potential national reserve asset.
