LOST 50 MILLION DOLLARS JUST BECAUSE OF A WRONG COPY-PASTE OF THE WALLET ADDRESS 😱
A person just lost a total of 50 million dollars due to a disastrous mistake when transferring U.S.D.T.
The scam scenario unfolded as follows:
Before making a large transfer, the victim sent a test amount of 50 USDT to their wallet address (0xbaf4b1aF...B6495F8b5).
The scammer immediately created a fake wallet with the first 4 and last 4 digits of the address being identical and executed the attack to forge the address!
Since many wallets only display the beginning + end + "..." in the middle, the victim was accustomed to copying the address from the transaction history and only checking the first/last 4 digits.
The malware on the device automatically changed the address to another one but kept the matching first and last 4 digits with the victim's address.
When transferring the remaining amount of 49,999,950 USDT, the victim mistakenly pasted the fake address → money flew straight into the scammer's pocket!
Now, when making a large transfer, definitely double-check the middle section, right guys? This trick is too sophisticated to detect 😭
