Based on data from Glassnode, Bitcoin ($BTC ) and Ether ($ETH ) user balances on central exchanges have reached their lowest levels in the past four years.
BTC user balances are currently under 2.3 million coins, or US$160 billion. Meanwhile ETH user balances are under 16 million coins, worth less than US$59 billion.
The reason why BTC and ETH balances on central exchanges have decreased is the profit-taking action of users which has been going on since the COVID-19 crisis in 2020. The peak will be in 2021.
