⚠️ How Did the Hack Happen?

According to Binance's investigation, hackers used fake job interviews, malicious software, compromised employee devices, and internal AI tools to gain access to the exchange's wallet-signing infrastructure.

The attackers transferred billions of dollars across multiple blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP.

🇰🇵 Who Is Behind the Attack?

The FBI attributed the attack to the North Korean-linked hacking group known as TraderTraitor.

🛡️ What Is Binance Doing?

• Rebuilding compromised systems.
• Strengthening wallet security.
• Working with law enforcement and blockchain security companies.
• Tracking and freezing stolen assets.
• Replenishing affected customer assets using company funds.
• Conducting an independent cybersecurity investigation.

IMPORTANT: Binance says it will absorb the financial impact of this incident rather than passing the losses on to its users.

However, 98% asset replenishment does NOT mean that 98% of the stolen funds have been recovered from hackers.

The investigation is still ongoing.
