$IRYS Isn't that wild? Do you know why it kept getting liquidated afterward? Because a massive short position appeared. This coin is clearly being controlled on the spot market—how could it not get liquidated?$IRYS
Over the past 24 hours, this 9-point move for $PEPE was driven mainly by futures, with spot following along.
A few Binance figures (Beijing time, 10/23): ① 1000PEPEUSDT perpetual futures volume was about $527 million, versus about $101 million in PEPE spot trading—more than 5 times as much in futures; ② Open interest rose from about $82 million at noon to about $108 million at 8 p.m., up 30% in just over 8 hours; ③ The funding rate was still negative (-0.0095%) at 8 a.m., then returned to 0.01% from 4 p.m. onward.
The key was the hour starting at 4 p.m.: perpetual futures volume surged from about $7.9 million in the previous hour to around $66 million, and the price rose more than 5% in an hour. Shorts first piled in, then volume surged as the price rallied. Open interest rose instead of falling—which means it wasn't just shorts getting squeezed out; a large number of new positions also rushed in.
The news that an address linked to Justin Sun received 7.2 trillion PEPE tokens is several days old (on-chain data shows it still holds about 7.27 trillion). It has resurfaced over the past couple of days, but based on the timeline, this rally was fueled by futures trading.
My take: PEPE is currently a gauge of meme sentiment. The excitement is real, but the foundation is heavy on leverage, amplifying moves in both directions. I'll only consider this rally to have genuine buying behind it if spot volume catches up and the price holds as open interest declines. The high-volume pullback at 10 p.m. has already served as an early warning.
Futu (NASDAQ: FUTU) enabled on-chain deposits and withdrawals for Hong Kong professional investors today: $BNB .
What can be verified: ① It runs on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), between self-custody wallets and Futu crypto accounts; ② BNB is now listed in the Help Center, with a withdrawal fee of about 0.000055 BNB and funds expected to arrive by 18:00 on the third business day; ③ PantherTrade has supported buying and selling since July. What’s new today is the on/off-ramp, not a new trading pair. CZ reposted the official announcement this afternoon, and that post has had over 200,000 views.
My read on the market: BNB is trading at around 747 on Binance spot, up about 1.9% over 24 hours, while BTC and ETH have barely moved over the same period. The bar for Hong Kong PIs is high (a commonly cited asset threshold is HKD 8 million), so volumes aren’t likely to surge in the short term. But the signal is clear: regulated brokers are starting to treat on-chain access as a standard feature. If the Help Center listing is taken down, or this turns out to be a verbal partnership that never materializes, I’ll take back this view.
The dividend won’t arrive as cash—it’ll be more $ASMLB and $NOKB.
Binance announced today that users holding ASMLB or NOKB will receive cash dividends from ASML and Nokia through bStocks. After withholding taxes and fees, the net amount will be reinvested in additional units or fractional shares of the same asset. Eligibility snapshot: October 27 at 08:00 Beijing time.
Starting at 07:30 that day, 1:1 conversions between ASML↔ASMLB and NOK↔NOKB, deposits and withdrawals, and related instant swaps will be paused, resuming after the dividend distribution. Spot trading pairs won’t be affected. Spot prices are currently around 1,565 for ASMLB and 8.22 for NOKB, with both weakening intraday.
Don’t confuse these three things: actual NYSE-listed stocks, Binance bStocks (tokenized certificates, not direct ownership of shares), and perpetuals that track stock prices (such as ASMLUSDT). If you’re holding a position, keep an eye on the two times on the morning of October 27. If you’re looking to trade short-term on the dividend narrative, remember that cross-product price spreads and market-closure gaps are not the same thing.
More than $5 billion worth of bitcoin is still being held in the UK—and a Tianjin court has just accepted an application to confiscate it.
The Paper and CoinDesk both confirm: on 10/13, the Tianjin Second Intermediate People’s Court accepted an application from prosecutors. The application names 61,896.41552945 BTC, along with BCH, XRP, DOGE, and other cryptocurrencies. On Binance’s spot market right now, $BTC is about $81,658, putting the total at a rough estimate of more than $5 billion.
A few details that can be verified: the case involves around 102,000 investors; on 10/12, the UK High Court ruled that Chinese law applies to victims’ property claims; on 10/16, it also granted permission to appeal. Acceptance of the confiscation application ≠ the coins having crossed the border—the devices and keys are still in the hands of UK authorities.
The point of following this saga isn’t the price swings; it’s who will ultimately control these coins.
At noon, $BMT touched 0.030, and the story in the group was: “Arkham is charging fees, so the free alternative is about to take off.” By the afternoon, it had fallen back to around 0.027, and the same people started changing their tune: “It spiked and pulled back—it’s going to tank.”
Notice—the fundamentals hadn’t changed one bit. What changed was the last few hourly candles.
This is called the recency effect: the brain treats “what just happened” as “what matters most.” On the chart, the last few candles you see can outweigh judgments formed over the previous days or even weeks.
Here’s a way to interrupt it that you can use right away: before changing your mind, write down, “What genuinely new information came out today?” If the answer is nothing, what changed isn’t your opinion—it’s your mood.
Next Monday, $DASH will bring Platform 5.0 to mainnet.
The official blog on 10/20 laid out the plan in black and white: mainnet release on 10/26; testnet has been running since 10/15. If enough evonodes upgrade, the lock-in is around 10/30, and protocol 14 is expected to take effect as early as 11/8. The real value of this release is: any token can launch an Orchard privacy pool, applications can self-manage bans, and fees can be collected publicly — this is not just empty talk about privacy, but putting privacy and monetization into the same toolkit.
Binance spot is currently around 54.85, up about +8.2% in 24h (high 55.98 / low 49.25), with volume around $13.4M. The privacy sector already had momentum this week, and with a mainnet date written into the calendar, it is no surprise that capital is pricing it in early.
For now, I am still on the side of "the date is still valid"; if the official launch is delayed, or if the 10/30 vote fails to reach 67% and the upgrade slips to the next round, I’ll drop this view.
$XAU has entered the market. Reasons: 1. The price has fallen to an attractive level. 2. The previous low makes it easy to find a favorable risk/reward ratio. 3. If hostilities break out, it will naturally rebound sharply, making it a hedge against risk assets. $XAU
$9.57 million worth of Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla tokens have been deposited as collateral on Aave and used to borrow USDC.
At 2 a.m. Beijing time today, Aave’s official account announced a partnership with Base to bring the stock market into DeFi: seven tokenized Mag7 stocks issued by Coinbase are now available in Aave V4’s Equities Hub. Deposit them as collateral, borrow USDC, with prices supplied by Chainlink.
Less than a day in, according to figures posted at 6 a.m. by Base ecosystem data account Base Hub: deposits totaled about $9.57 million, with around $4.08 million in USDC borrowed. Three-quarters of the borrowers were using Aave on Base for the first time.
$AAVE , however, barely reacted. Binance spot was trading around 147.7 at 10:10, down about 3.1% over 24 hours, in line with the broader market.
My take: a few million dollars is pocket change for Aave, so it’s no surprise the market isn’t assigning it a premium. The real trade thesis is whether “borrowing against U.S. stocks” can become a new source of fee revenue. If this channel scales up, today’s price is discounting that growth. But if the Hub’s lending and borrowing volumes stay stuck at a few million over the next week or two, this story will have to wait.
Seven chains launched on the same day, and $AERO was already down more than 7% on Binance Spot.
What can be verified: Aerodrome and Velodrome merged to form Aero, which went live on Ethereum, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP, Arc, and Arbitrum at 08:00 Beijing time on 10/22 (20:00 ET on 10/21). That evening, the official account @aeroxyz posted again: “Aero is here.” VELO converts to the new AERO at a rate of 0.044. Velodrome accounts for about 5.5% of the supply, and Aerodrome about 94.5%. AERO is now around $0.80 on Binance Spot, down about 7.3% over 24 hours, with a high of $0.87, a low of $0.79, and roughly $6.8 million in volume.
My take: This is a sell-the-news move, not a case of good news failing to materialize. There are two things to watch when considering a trade: whether genuine trading volume across the seven chains picks up, and how much longer selling pressure from VELO conversions will last. If the former holds up, the dip could offer a worthwhile entry; if the latter outweighs the inflows, the price could continue to grind lower.
Both reported earnings on the same night. Meta beat revenue expectations but fell, while Tesla’s net profit declined yet it made back its premarket losses after the open. Tonight, the market cared about just one thing: cash.
Meta brought in $64.6 billion in revenue this quarter, up 26% year over year. But capital expenditures were $34.9 billion, operating cash flow was only $32.8 billion, and free cash flow came in at -$2.1 billion, versus positive free cash flow a year ago. On top of that, there’s a $25 billion fine imposed by a New Mexico court (Meta says it will appeal).
Tesla was the reverse: GAAP net profit fell from $1.37 billion in the same quarter last year to $787 million. But free cash flow was +$1.53 billion, while Wall Street had expected the company to burn $4.9 billion. Its full-year capex guidance was cut from more than $25 billion to around $20 billion.
On Binance’s 1-hour perpetual futures chart: META briefly surged to 749 after earnings and is now around 659; TSLA dipped to around 366 premarket, then rebounded to 387 after the open.
The divergence isn’t about which business is doing better; it’s about the pace of spending. Meta’s AI investment has already outstripped the cash it’s bringing in. Tesla is cutting spending, which makes the numbers look better on paper, but the possible cost is slower progress in AI and robotics. In the short term, I lean toward META staying under pressure from cash-flow concerns. The signal that could change my mind is whether it joins a Nasdaq rebound: if it does, this looks more like broad-market sentiment; if it doesn’t, the market is discounting AI spending.
Both are U-margined perpetual futures, not the stocks themselves, and prices may diverge from spot during market closures.
Buffett’s company entered Binance’s spot market last night—but what was available to buy wasn’t the stock listed on the NYSE.
At 20:00 Beijing time on 10/21, Binance announced the listing of five bStocks: $BRKBB (Berkshire Hathaway), BOTB, a tokenized STAR Market 50 ETF (KSTRB), a tokenized 3x leveraged U.S. Treasury ETF (TMFB), and VSTB. At the same time, they could also be used as collateral for cross margin or portfolio margin; borrowing is not yet supported. Maker fees for these five tokens will be waived during the promotion, through 10/31 23:59 (UTC).
First, distinguish among three things: actual NYSE shares, bStocks tokenized shares (a 1:1 mapping), and TradFi perpetuals (such as BRKBUSDT)—they’re not the same. Price check: $BRKBB is around 543 (+0.7% over 24 hours). Of the five, the STAR Market 50 token is the most actively traded, at around 18.99, down about 4% over 24 hours.
Regional and compliance restrictions remain in place. What could change the assessment is whether trading volume holds up and whether the collateral rules tighten.
The moment you unlocked the wallet, your private key had already been sent to someone else’s server.
The Polkadot Community Foundation (PCF) posted a security notice on its forum on October 21, Beijing time: a backdoor was planted in the publicly visible “TON ecosystem” code changes for the third-party Fearless browser extension (versions 3.0.1 / 3.0.3 / 3.0.4 / 3.0.5), starting February 19, 2025. As soon as the wallet was unlocked, private keys were sent to the attacker’s server. The code ran intermittently until October 10, 2026—nearly 20 months.
So far, 8 people have filed reports, with a total of 17,286 $DOT stolen. Changing your password or reinstalling the extension won’t help; moving the same seed phrase to another wallet isn’t safe either. The official team says the audited mobile app doesn’t contain this code, but if your seed phrase was ever entered into the browser extension, it should be considered compromised. Fearless is not an official wallet.
From now on, checking the dates of source code commits may need to be part of browser extension security checks, too.
CME opened a regulated block-trading channel for $UNI , but spot fell by more than five points first.
Two things we can verify: ① At around midnight Beijing time on 10/21, CME Group officially announced that Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures had launched. FalconX and GSR were the parties to the first block trade; ② Uniswap founder Hayden posted on X at 01:16 today, Beijing time: this was the first $UNI block trade on regulated TradFi rails, and the first-ever trade of any DeFi token.
At the moment, Binance spot is around 7.12, down about 5.6% over 24 hours (high 7.73 / low 7.07), with roughly $51.1 million in volume. Over the same period, $BTC is down about 1.2%. After the channel announcement went live, UNI spot was clearly weaker.
My take: this door is for desks that “can’t touch DEXs and can only trade through CME.” It doesn’t mean spot buying has been ignited. There’s only one reason to trade this coin: the institutional channel has opened to a DeFi token for the first time, and whether that activity will flow back into spot. What would change my mind: spot volume rises consistently, and the token stops being clearly weaker than the broader market. One risk to keep in mind: a futures channel can remain disconnected from spot for a long time. #CME期货 #DeFi
Solana just got a new “heart,” while the price ECG for $SOL is almost flat.
At around 21:59 Beijing time last night, Alpenglow went live on mainnet. This is the biggest consensus change since Solana launched: TowerBFT, which had been in use since 2020, was replaced by Votor, cutting transaction finality from about 12.8 seconds to roughly 150 milliseconds. The switch happened at slot 459,653,000. Developers involved in the migration described it as “boring and uneventful”—the chain never stopped, and apps kept running.
Technically, this is a perfect score. But what about the market? On Binance’s SOLUSDT spot 1-hour chart, the candle for the hour of activation opened at 107.02, then SOL climbed to 109.20 (on the candle at 2 a.m. today). It has since pulled back to around 105.5, more than a dollar below where it was before activation. Over the same period, BTC and ETH were basically unchanged over 24 hours, while SOL slightly underperformed.
I don’t think this means the “good news failed to move the price.” It’s more that the good news had been on the table for a while. From proposal and voting to testnet, Alpenglow was publicly discussed for months, and the activation date was set in advance. No one found out only today that it was going live. The only thing the market hadn’t priced in was whether the switch would go wrong. It went smoothly, so that risk is gone—but that’s as far as it goes.
More fundamentally, 150-millisecond finality is an upgrade to user experience and settlement efficiency; it doesn’t automatically create buying demand for SOL. Whether it translates into a higher price depends on the data over the coming weeks: are volumes in the use cases most sensitive to speed—on-chain payments, DEXs, perpetuals, and the like—actually shifting over in a meaningful way? That’s not something a single hourly candle can answer.
So in the short term, I’m neutral on SOL. In early October, it was still around 118–122. A big red candle on 10/8 sent it tumbling, and from 10/13 until now it has been chopping back and forth between 100.4 and 109.2. This upgrade hasn’t broken it out of that range either.
What would change my mind: a real pickup in trading activity and stablecoin activity on Solana, followed by a high-volume break above the range. That would mean the market is starting to pay for “speed.” Conversely, if the price can’t hold around 100, it would suggest that the market has already played out this upgrade as a price catalyst.
The blockchain has done its homework. For the price, we’ll have to wait for the data to fill in the answer.
Arkham started charging, but it was $BMT that went up.
First, what we can verify: On 10/20, Arkham launched its paid Enterprise plan and changed the free plan at the same time—full transaction history, transaction filters, and Tracer 2.0 were all moved behind a paywall. Free users can now view only the latest 100 transactions for any one address. Arkham’s official account posted the announcement at 21:43 Beijing time on 10/20.
When a key tool for on-chain sleuths starts charging, everyone’s first reaction is to look for an alternative that’s still free. Bubblemaps happens to fill that role. The market’s connection is that straightforward.
The price action tells the story more clearly than the logic. Measuring from 5 p.m. on 10/20: BMT went from 0.01759 to around 0.0231, up 31%; yesterday’s spot trading volume was about $14.2 million, compared with an average of only around $300,000 per day the previous week—a 47-fold increase. Arkham’s own $ARKM rose only about 6%, with trading volume roughly in line with normal levels.
No one rushed to buy the company that set the rules; they rushed to buy the one forced into the role of alternative.
One detail needs clarifying: BMT’s volume started picking up at 5 or 6 p.m. on 10/20, three or four hours before Arkham’s official post. Maybe someone saw the blog early, or maybe money was already positioning itself—I can’t verify that, so I won’t claim a direct cause-and-effect relationship.
My view is bullish. The paywall is real, and so is the demand for a free alternative. After falling from last night’s high of 0.026, buyers stepped in at a low of 0.0213; this morning it climbed back to 0.023, and volume hasn’t dried up. As for how much of that 47-fold volume surge is short-term trading back and forth, nobody can say for sure yet.
Arkham wanted to turn retail users into paying customers. First, it gave its competitor a free ad.
Last time I wrote $SPCXB , I said I was bullish, but added one caveat: the thing that could truly overturn that view was the earnings report itself. Now the report is out, and it overturned it in the opposite direction.
On the earnings call at 4:30 a.m. Beijing time yesterday, SpaceX reported Q3 revenue of $14.6 billion, up 161% year over year. Before the call, the market was expecting around $13 billion. AI (which they call Super Intelligence) brought in $7.56 billion, while Starlink and communications brought in $5.25 billion. AI is already the biggest revenue segment.
There was another line on the call that could prove more of a spark than the numbers: Musk said that, at shareholders’ request, Tesla and SpaceX have each formed special committees made up of independent directors to study a merger. He recused himself, and there are no terms. His exact words were, “A merger shouldn’t be treated as a foregone conclusion.” So the merger has gone from “analysts are speculating” to “the boards are going through the process,” but it’s still a long way from being announced.
Here’s how the market reacted: SPCXB closed at 148.05 in the hour before the earnings report, then shot straight up to 154 in the hourly candle after the report. By 6 a.m. it was above 160, and it stayed around 160 throughout the day without falling back. During the first hour of U.S. trading, about $16 million worth changed hands on Binance; in the next hour, it reached a high of 166.15. It’s now around 163.2, up 10.6% in 24 hours.
What hasn’t happened yet is the lockup expiration: up to around 1.3 billion shares, starting 10/22 in the U.S. market—that is, at tonight’s open, Beijing time. A lot of people will say the stock is bound to get hammered on the day the lockup expires. I’m still bullish: the lockup date has been in the prospectus all along, so everyone knows about it. And two real developments—earnings and the merger process—landed the day before the lockup expiration. The price rose 10% before the potential negative catalyst hit, and didn’t give back those gains during the day. That suggests there are buyers willing to step in above 160.
One note: SPCXB is a tokenized bStocks share on Binance that tracks SpaceX’s share price, but it isn’t the same stock you’d buy in a U.S. brokerage account. Tesla’s own Q3 earnings report is also due after the U.S. market closes on 10/21, so it’ll be out this morning. Next, we’ll need to see what both sides say about the merger.
Binance delisting a futures contract used to be seen as an entry ticket to a crazy coin. But this time, the announcement for $MITO shut the door first.
Here’s what I could verify: Binance Futures announced at 17:30 Beijing time today that the PTBUSDT and MITOUSDT USDT-margined perpetual contracts will be closed at 17:00 on 10/23, automatically settled, and then delisted. The key is the second half: from the moment the announcement went out (17:30), opening orders that don’t reduce positions are no longer allowed, with only some market makers exempt.
Looking back at the 10/1 delisting (the PROMPT, PUMPBTC, and BOB contracts), restrictions on opening new positions kicked in 30 minutes before settlement. This time, they came nearly two days earlier. Binance hasn’t said whether this will be standard practice going forward; I’ve only seen that the two announcements were worded differently.
The market reaction was immediate. Spot MITO plunged from 0.01306 to 0.01055 in the 17:00 hourly candle, then touched 0.00906 at 18:00—a maximum two-hour drop of 30%. It’s now around 0.0097, down about 27% over 24 hours. Spot trading volume today is about $7.5 million, versus only $500,000 to just over $1 million on most days last week.
I think this matters more than the drop itself. For a delisted contract to deliver a “last-day moonshot,” people still need to be able to enter: open new positions, squeeze each other, push funding rates to absurd levels, and pull spot prices up along with them. People on X are already comparing this to NFP’s delisting run, saying it went nearly 8x on the final day. But now, on the futures side, traders can only reduce positions, not add to them. Open interest can only shrink, and the fuel for a squeeze starts running out from the moment the announcement is made. Spot is still trading, but without futures as a speculative channel, attention will probably fade too.
So I’m bearish on $MITO . This drop doesn’t look like an emotional overreaction; it looks more like the trading structure has changed. If you were hoping to bet on a delisting moonshot using the old playbook, half the stage has already been dismantled.
Today was finally a green Wednesday. $BTC rose by a little over two points in a day, climbing from just above 81,000 to around 83,800.
Strangely, even though it went up, I feel less at ease than I did over the past few days. When it falls, I know what to do—close the app and go to sleep. But as soon as it rises, I get itchy fingers, and my mind fills with “Should I or shouldn’t I?”
I went out for hot pot tonight. It was so spicy I broke a sweat, and that finally helped me shake off the urge.
How do you usually keep yourselves from acting on impulse when prices are rising?
