According to Foresight News, a16z tweeted that Convex, a web developer management platform, released an open source project, AI Town, which allows developers to run and build their own AI world SIM using Javascript. The goal of the project is to enable everyone to build their own simulation environment through AI agents.
Foresight News previously reported that in April 2022, Convex completed a $26 million financing led by a16z and participated by Jamstack Innovation Fund. Individual investors included former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, Alphabet board member Ram Shriram, and Creative Artists Agency founder Michael Ovitz. a16z general partner Martin Casado will join the Convex board of directors.
