According to Cointelegraph, a judge in the Three Arrows Capital (3AC) bankruptcy case has dismissed a motion that would have held co-founder Kyle Davies in contempt of court and subject him to sanctions. On August 11, Martin Glenn, a judge in the Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Court, said that the ruling on the motion to issue a subpoena to Davies through X was made without knowing that the 3AC co-founder was a non-US citizen living abroad. He cited federal laws that force compliance outside the United States, adding that the motion he approved as of December 2022 "is based on the record at the time, which considers Mr. Davies to be a US citizen." On August 1, Davies' lawyers submitted evidence that he applied to renounce his US citizenship in December 2020 and became a Singaporean citizen after marrying a Singaporean citizen. Singapore does not allow dual citizenship. His application was in response to a contempt motion filed by 3AC's foreign representative in the US bankruptcy case for not responding to an online subpoena.
