According to Cointelegraph, decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) provider Aethir announced the launch of its decentralized cloud computing network on the Ethereum mainnet.
Enterprises, data centers, other cloud service providers, and cryptocurrency mining operators can contribute idle GPU resources to Aethir’s network of GPU-as-a-Service solutions.
Co-founder Mark Ryden stressed the importance of the mainnet launch, saying:
“By providing a scalable framework to reallocate idle computing resources, we can inspire more innovation in rapidly evolving fields such as AI, machine learning, and cloud gaming. On mainnet, high-quality companies can contribute to the Aethir Network and increase accessibility to the current GPU supply.”
Businesses and developers will be able to rent computing resources from Aethir’s network of providers to help train artificial intelligence models or render digital content at scale.
Through the native ATH token, Aethir uses Ethereum for staking functionality, Arbitrum (ARB) for fast payments to compute providers and community rewards for check nodes to ensure quality assurance.
Aethir’s ATH also facilitates network governance, the staking process, and the security of the DePIN ecosystem.
