Base officially launched a cross-chain bridge. I tried it and made a front-end. In fact, I still sent the mainnet ETH to the contract address.

However, using the front end is more friendly to users who are not skilled in manipulation.

PC operation is simple and no need to go into details.

The following is a tutorial on adding network and cross-chain using TP wallet.

First create an ETH mainnet wallet. After creating it, add the Base network as shown below, and finally choose to import the wallet.

Then select the import method "One-click synchronization", select "Ethereum Bottom Layer", and click to start synchronization. You can get a wallet address that is the same as the Base chain and the Ethereum main network.

The following operation requires opening the VPN, otherwise the official cross-chain bridge cannot be opened. Click Discover and enter the URL: https://bridge.base.org/ to enter the official cross-chain bridge.

Connect the wallet, click Bridge assets, then click Accept, enter the cross-chain amount, click DEPOSIT ETH, and finally click Confirm Payment, enter the wallet password, and confirm.

Wait less than 2 minutes, check the wallet of the Base chain, and you can see the cross-chain ETH.

Try to cross when the ETH main network gas is low to save gas!
