Author: KEY3.id

On November 24, DID application KEY3.id launched the first blue chip NFT-bound .bayc digital identity (DID) at 20:00 (UTC+8) today, and opened mint to all Bored Ape (BAYC) NFT holders. BAYC NFT holders can claim the corresponding numbered DID for free on KEY3.id, such as 0000.bayc. .bayc is bound one-to-one with Bored Ape NFT, and the total amount is also 10,000.

According to its official introduction, .bayc DID is the first ABT (Asset Bound Token) bound to a blue-chip NFT, which is only available to NFT holders and cannot be transferred. KEY3.id CEO Kory Pak declared on his Twitter that .bayc may usher in the era of "Asset as your DID".

As soon as .bayc was launched, it was sought after by a large number of BAYC NFT holders, including many well-known Web3 KOLs. Game Space CEO Michael Cameron minted 6669.bayc and changed his Twitter name to "Michael Cameron 6669.bayc"; former Huobi Global CEO 0xLivio minted 2883.bayc and also changed his Twitter name. Discussions about .bayc have spread rapidly in major Bored Ape communities.

Michael Cameron said: ".bayc perfectly combines the top-level nature of the BAYC domain name with the easy-to-remember nature of the 4D domain name. It can only be claimed by NFT holders, which can effectively reflect the assets of domain name holders. It is expected to soon become the most sought-after DID, and may even drive up the prices of top NFTs such as Bored Ape, especially beneficial to the beautiful number assets among them."

Several BoredApe NFT holders told the author that the most valuable aspect of .bayc is that the ABT feature ensures its seriousness, that is, it follows the NFT and cannot be traded alone. Once the NFT is transferred or traded, its corresponding DID will also be destroyed.

KEY3.id CEO Kory Pak said that KEY3.id will cooperate with dozens of Wallets including Bitkeep Wallet, KuCoin Wallet, DeFi, GameFi, SocialFi and other DAPPs to apply the .bayc domain name to identity identification, transfer, social, airdrop and other scenarios.

In addition to .bayc, KEY3.id will also support 20 blue-chip NFT-bound DIDs such as .punk, .doodle, and .mfer. According to its official website, a community voting event will be launched in early December, and the NFT project with the highest number of votes that week will start domain name mint.
