🚀 AntPool, a famous Bitcoin mining pool, announced that it has decided to refund the huge $3 million transaction fee that made headlines last week. 😱

A user accidentally sent 83 BTC gas fees and AntPool's risk control system temporarily froze the transaction while it was being processed.

📅 According to an update on November 30, AntPool has given until December 10, 2023 to verify the identity of the original owner.

To facilitate the refund process, the mining company required the user to prepare a signature tool such as Electrum or Bitcoin Core using the private key of the address associated with the transaction. The user is required to sign the "AntPool" message and send the signed text to the support email address provided.

🤯 The false transaction, which set a new record with a $3.1 million fee, involved the transfer of 55.77 BTC with a pre-transaction balance of 139.42 BTC. The user overpaid a staggering 120,528 times as reported by Bitcoin explorer Mempool.
