According to U.Today, Lucie, the marketing expert of the SHIB team, recently addressed a common query within the Shiba Inu community regarding the possibility of using Shiba Inu on the Ethereum chain. She explained that this cannot be done without the involvement of Ethereum developers due to several technical and security challenges.

Lucie clarified that some members of the Shiba Inu community believe it would be beneficial to use SHIB on the Ethereum chain to pay for gas fees, similar to ETH. However, she pointed out that Ethereum is a digital platform that allows the creation and use of decentralized applications and smart contracts, which require a certain amount of Ethereum, the native crypto of the Ethereum network, to function. Therefore, ETH is used as a 'gas fee' to power the network and incentivize miners to verify transactions on it.

The idea of using a nonnative token like SHIB on Ethereum raises questions. Lucie explained that Ethereum is designed to run on ETH, not SHIB, indicating a lack of close compatibility between them. She also stated that using any nonnative token to pay for gas on Ethereum could lead to technical and security issues. This is because Ethereum operates on the proof-of-stake algorithm designed for ETH as a gas token, among other features.

Lucie further highlighted practical considerations, stating that introducing a different token like SHIB would require significant changes to the existing infrastructure and could create confusion and complexity for users. She concluded by saying that using any third-party token on Ethereum with or instead of ETH is not practical due to technical, security, and compatibility reasons.
