Satoshi Nakamoto is believed to be the owner of the largest amount of Bitcoin, estimated at around 1.1 million BTC. Satoshi, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, mined over 22,000 blocks in the early days of the cryptocurrency, accumulating this substantial sum. Although the exact identity of Satoshi remains unknown, their impact on the world of digital currency is undeniable.
In addition to Satoshi, notable individuals who hold significant amounts of Bitcoin include the Winklevoss twins, Tyler and Cameron, who are estimated to own around 70,000 BTC. Michael Saylor, the CEO of MicroStrategy, publicly revealed ownership of 17,732 BTC in 2020, and it's likely he has increased his holdings since then.
Various institutions also hold substantial amounts of Bitcoin, such as MicroStrategy, BlackRock, and Grayscale, further solidifying the cryptocurrency's presence in both individual and institutional investment portfolios.
