CoinVoice has recently learned that on June 30, the Layer 1 blockchain Ziliqa officially announced that the mainnet will start the v9.2 version upgrade at 16:00 Beijing time on July 5. The upgrade time is expected to be about 8 hours (or up to 24 hours). During the upgrade, the Ziliqa network will not process transactions and deposits and withdrawals will be suspended.
This upgrade will introduce multiple enhancements and new features designed to optimize performance and strengthen cross-chain functionality. Among them, the key improvement is to enhance the interoperability between EVM and Scilla, simplify the creation, testing and launch of fungible tokens using ERC-20 and ZRC-2 smart contracts to facilitate seamless cross-chain interactions. Enhancements also include expanded test coverage for third-party EVM contracts and full backward compatibility with all existing Scilla contracts in Scilla version 0.13.3.
In addition, the upgrade includes various bug fixes, improvements to server-side resiliency and overall network performance enhancements, the introduction of advanced search and tracking capabilities for developers, and expanded development platform support. [Original link]
