Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin (BTC), decided to move on to other things when he sent his final communication to Bitcoin's original developers on April 23, 2011, 13 years ago.

Bitcoin core developer Mike Hearn explained the final instructions as part of an email exchange with Nakamoto about the challenges and technical aspects of implementing Bitcoin functions to control spam using BTC as collateral:

"Satoshi's final message also adds a sense of transition: "I had a few other things on my mind (as usual). […] I moved on to other things. He's in good hands with Gavin and everyone."

Nakamoto's identity remains one of the biggest mysteries in the tech world, as there is no conclusive evidence. This makes communication with Bitcoin's early adopters a rich source of information about the early days of cryptocurrency.

Satoshi introduced the world to Bitcoin with the publication of the Bitcoin white paper on October 31, 2008. The paper described a method of creating a digital transaction system that does not rely on trust or third-party involvement using a peer-to-peer network. Satoshi continued to work on Bitcoin software until 2010, when he handed over control to other developers. Since then, Bitcoin has become a $1.3 trillion asset.
