BIP regulation, an often invisible aspect of the Bitcoin development process, has been a bottleneck for the last few years. However, this is starting to change as the global Bitcoin development community nominates five new BIP editors.🎉🎉

Luke Dashjr is a somewhat controversial Bitcoin OG who has been going it alone for the last decade. However, the nomination process, led by Ava Chow, named five new editors: Bitcoin developer and co-founder of Custodia Bank Bryan Bishop, bitdevs.org mailing list co-hosts Murch and Ruben Somsen, Lightning Labs CTO Olaoluwa Osuntokun, and Bitcoin Core contributor Jonatack.👏👏

BIP editing involves everything from “minor things” like correcting typos in proposals to assessing whether there should be a BIP, assigning it a number, and providing detailed feedback. At the end of this process, BIP is merged into the GitHub repository.😎😎

Check the comments to see what BIPs are and why they are important. You can also share your thoughts on making the BIP issuance process more efficient.👇👇👇
