Ronin EVM Sidechain to Introduce Korea’s Popular MMORPG IP “Ragnarok”
PANews reported on April 17 that according to The Block, the EVM-based sidechain Ronin launched by Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis announced a partnership with the Web3 strategy game "Ragnarok: Monster World". The game is a new member of South Korea's multi-billion-dollar cross-media IP Ragnarok. The two parties stated in a statement that this cooperation has brought the first Web2 game IP to the Ronin network.
According to the statement, South Korea's Ragnarok IP began in 1997 with the fantasy-themed manga of the same name, and later developed into a successful MMORPG game series with a total of 167 million downloads in 122 regions around the world. The new game based on the popular IP will allow players to collect and train monsters called "Ragmons" to fight other players. The game will reward players with "ZENY" points, which can be exchanged for in-game currency or ZENY tokens. A spokesperson said: "The tokens will be generated after the game goes online."
