Odaily Planet Daily News: Hong Kong Customs recently successfully smashed a money laundering group, involving more than HK$1.8 billion and three people were arrested. Hong Kong Customs said that recently, customs officers targeted three local people based on intelligence and launched a wealth investigation. They found that they opened multiple local companies and multiple bank accounts from June 2021 to July 2022, and processed more than 1,000 suspicious transactions, including funds transferred from virtual currency trading platforms, involving more than HK$1.8 billion. Hong Kong Customs said that the three arrested persons are currently on bail pending investigation. The case is still under investigation, and more arrests are not ruled out.
