When were previous Bitcoin halvings held?
As of January 2024, three halvings have occurred:
The number of new bitcoins created per block was reduced from 50 to 25 on November 28, 2012.
The number of new bitcoins created per block was reduced from 25 to 12.5 on July 9, 2016.
The number of new bitcoins created per block was reduced from 12.5 to 6.25 on May 11, 2020.
