Crypto-friendly lawyer John Deaton has raised more funds than Senator Elizabeth Warren in the first quarter of 2024 for his bid to take her Senate seat. Deaton's campaign has raised $1.36 million, compared to Warren's $1.09 million. His top donors include crypto industry bigwigs like Ripple executives Chris Larsen and Brad Garlinghouse, Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson. Deaton, who gained recognition defending XRP holders in the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple, is running as a Republican against Warren, a Democrat known for her anti-crypto stance. The U.S. Senate elections are scheduled for Nov. 5.
