A hammer is a candlestick with a lower wick at the bottom, where the lower wick is at least twice the size of the body.
A hammer shows that despite higher selling pressure, the bulls pushed the price back near the open. A hammer can be red or green, but green hammers can indicate a strong bullish reaction
