Ethereum core developers discussed the reasons for the increase in the number of missed blocks on March 27 and new research on Ethereum state and history growth at the 184th ACDE call. Developers said that the increase in the number of missed blocks was caused by a Bloxroute MEV relay issue, which the Bloxroute team is working on. In addition, new research from the Paradigm team found that Ethereum state growth is not the main bottleneck for scalability, but historical growth is the real problem. Developers also approved the inclusion of two retroactive Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) in Prague/Electra, namely EIP 7610 and 7523, and shared development updates on other candidate EIPs, such as EIP 7547 (inclusion list), EIP 5920 (PAY opcode), and EIP 7545 (Verkle proof verification precompile).
