According to King Ten, JPMorgan Chase strategist Oksana Aronov believes that in the current environment, the Federal Reserve has no compelling reason to cut interest rates. Aronov told CNBC in an interview that the U.S. economy is doing well, with unemployment below what the Fed considers a neutral level and inflation above target. In fact, growth forecasts for 2024 are only increasing. The Fed's latest summary of economic forecasts showed officials expect real GDP growth to reach 2.1% this year, compared with a December forecast of 1.4%. Other economists, including Apollo's Torsten Sløk, also forecast zero rate cuts this year.
