Eric Wall, promoter of the Ordinals protocol and #BRC-20 tokens explained why #bitcoin is close to facing a danger of centralization that #Ethereum experienced recently.

Specifically, Wall spoke of the #MEV (miner extractable value) as a danger of centralization in Bitcoin. MEV, which has been around for a long time in Ethereum, refers to the ability of miners to strategically include or reorder transactions in a block to earn additional profit.

"When it becomes easy to put arbitrary data into the blockchain, other things can be developed, (...) now there is a complete sh**coin protocol in the Bitcoin protocol," Wall explained, in relation to the BRC-20 token protocol.

If we do nothing, the Bitcoin #mining pool that uses the MEV the best will become the biggest and everyone will want to join to make more money,”
