Layer1 blockchain Zilliqa said on Twitter that it will achieve EVM compatibility on the mainnet on April 25 and lay the foundation for Zilliqa 2.0. EVM compatibility will allow users to transfer ZIL tokens locally using EVM DApps and wallets. After the first full version of EVM compatibility is implemented, it will be expanded in subsequent mainnet upgrades to include full interoperability between Scilla and Solidity standards for fungible tokens, NFTs, etc. Zilliqa 2.0 is being developed with the EVM compatibility feature and will retain all the features of the current version of the Zilliqa network, including full EVM compatibility, while bringing significant improvements to network performance and utility. Zilliqa 2.0 will provide faster finality and better scalability through a new and improved sharding system.
