Last month, Elon Musk incorporated X .AI Corp. in Nevada and is now launching an AI start-up to rival OpenAI, with plans to build a team of AI researchers and engineers.
It's unclear whether Musk's X .AI Corp. is involved in the new AI initiative.
The move comes after Musk, along with other AI researchers and executives, called for a six-month pause to develop more powerful systems than OpenAI's GPT-4.
Even as regulators demand well-defined rules ahead of mass adoption, companies like Microsoft and Amazon are pushing to include Generative AI, the technology behind chatbot sensation ChatGPT, in their offerings.
