Binance has grown significantly in recent years, and with this growth has also increased investments in compliance resources and expertise.

This video is the second in a series of six blog posts in which we will highlight the leaders of our compliance team and hear their opinions on various topics.

We asked them how they have seen their compliance teams grow over the years and what their investments have been focused on. Check out their answers below.

The investment in human resources and compliance teams is one of the highlights of the video above, but it doesn't end there. Access to the latest tools and technologies for compliance team members is also of utmost importance.

In the video, Matt Price, International Director of Intelligence and Investigations, talks about how the team has grown to more than 20 investigators around the world. Matt's team spans major markets, and most of the team has law enforcement experience. On the technology side, Matt's team has adopted new forensic investigation tools, Chainalysis, additional licenses with TRM Labs, and are constantly looking for new and better tools to conduct these investigations.

Chagri Poyraz, international director of sanctions, also appears in the video. Chagri notes that his team is nearly 40 people strong, covering essential functions supporting the sanctions program as well as other financial compliance programs. Meanwhile, customer service, which has close to 2,000 members, also plays a key role, managing all incoming issues by classifying risk and escalating them to the right team.

Tigran Gambaryan, Compliance Director for Financial Crime Prevention at Binance, also highlighted how his team has grown since he started working here. Although the Tigran team started with less than 10 people, the management team committed to expanding it to more than 20, with the support of CZ. This allowed Tigran to access the resources he needed to ensure the Special Investigations team had team leaders spread across the globe. It is not only the number of people on the Tigran team that influences, but also the training they have at their disposal. Investigators, people who monitor the market, transaction monitoring, and our law enforcement teams at Binance have access to the best tools in the industry.
