Two senior executives at Switzerland-based cryptocurrency custody provider Metaco have left the company shortly after it struck an acquisition deal with blockchain solutions company Ripple. According to CoinDesk, Metaco founder and CEO Adrien Treccani and CPO Peter DeMeo have resigned from their positions. Metaco has not yet announced who will fill these roles. Ripple acquired Metaco for $250 million in May 2023, and this deal marked the company's expansion into the growing institutional cryptocurrency custody market. Metaco's leadership change comes three months after the company partnered with HSBC to launch a new digital asset custody service for institutional clients invested in tokenized securities.
