Web3 protocol #Polkadot has set a new blockchain speed record, minting 4,930 NFTs per minute, beating previous records set by Solana and Polygon.
The record was achieved during an #NFT drop for interactive storytelling game Forever Has Fallen, utilising Polkadotās Unique Network parachain, which is tailored for composable NFTs.
Known as Bounty Hunter Tickets (BHTs), these NFTs provide access to the Huntersā Lair within Forever Has Fallen, and play a key role in the experience.
This comes ahead of the forthcoming integration of Asynchronous Backing (AB) to Polkadot, which will push the speed and efficiency of the Layer-0 even further.
How was the record broken?
Incite, the developers of Forever Has Fallen, tested multiple blockchains ahead of their mint, looking at factors such as speed, gas fees and performance, minting 300,000 NFTs in the process.
The team chose Polkadot for their mass NFT mint, believing their infrastructure to be ideal for the task ā a belief which led to this new record being established, positioning Polkadot as an attractive option for web3 games that require a rapid & reliable way to send huge numbers of NFTs to their players.
Kimon Lycos, Founder and CEO of Incite, noted that they āwant Web3 elements to be under the hoodā, and that Polkadotās speed allows them to āenable a Web2-type experience of instant gratification.ā
Alexandar Mitrovic, CEO of Unique Network, added that āPolkadot offers great flexibilityā, with the success of the Forever Has Fallen Bounty Hunter Ticket mint giving their team āthe opportunity to present a business case that talks to mass consumers.ā
