【MEXC Update: Elliptic Removes Special Risk Flag】

In response to market concerns triggered by recent FinCEN-related orders, MEXC CEO Vugar Usi issued a statement highlighting four key points:

1️⃣ Deposits and withdrawals remain normal: The platform has never suspended deposits or withdrawals. Withdrawal volume has indeed increased recently, but operations remain orderly and user assets are safe.

2️⃣ Risk flag removed: Following discussions, compliance analytics firm Elliptic restored MEXC Global to the standard “Exchange” category in its system and removed the special risk flag previously applied.

3️⃣ Proactively engaging with regulators: MEXC is seeking constructive dialogue with FinCEN and has launched an independent review of its anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance controls.

4️⃣ Respecting users’ choices: The platform says it respects users’ decisions to withdraw their assets and will continue to share updates.

A brief observation: A regulatory inquiry into an exchange does not mean user assets are immediately at risk. However, the fact that a risk flag was applied and then removed shows that assessments by compliance data providers of fund flows can directly affect market sentiment. For ordinary users, whether deposits and withdrawals remain smooth and whether the results of the independent review are made public are more worth monitoring than a statement on its own. Consider limiting your exposure to any single platform and wait for substantive results from its discussions with FinCEN before drawing conclusions.
