📈 Ethereum Analysis: $2,200 Is the Whole Story — After the Rebound Thesis Broke
$ETH This is an analysis of levels—not a recommendation to buy or sell. Prices are from Kraken on the morning of November 7.
First: Price Structure
• The price is now around $2,240, after reaching a 24-hour low of $2,201 and a high of $2,251
• Daily trend: bearish — it lost around 7 percent on Thursday alone, breaking below $2,300 and then $2,254
• The price is trading near its lowest level in about 10 weeks
Second: Levels
• Support: $2,200, then $2,150, then $2,000
• Resistance: $2,250, then $2,300, then $2,439
• The level that will decide things today: $2,200 — holding above it keeps the bottoming-out story alive; breaking below it opens the door to a deeper drop
• Invalidation level: a daily close below $2,200 invalidates the entire consolidation thesis
Third: Derivatives
• Liquidations: $213 million in Ethereum positions over 24 hours, 85 percent of them long positions — and around $300 million in long positions were wiped out over 48 hours
• The ratio of long to short accounts is 3.85 — meaning 79 percent of tracked accounts are still long
• Funding: no verified figure was available this morning — I’ll leave it unconfirmed rather than guess
Fourth: Flows
• Ethereum funds saw outflows of around $100 million on Thursday — and $270 million since the start of November, following $1.6 billion in outflows in October
• But the validator queue has around 1.037 million ETH waiting to be staked — meaning demand for staking is still there despite institutional outflows
Fifth: The Two-Scenario Tree
• Consolidation: holding above $2,200 opens the way to $2,250 and then $2,300 — invalidated by a daily close below $2,200
• Downside: breaking below $2,200 sends the price back to $2,150 and then $2,000 — invalidated by a close above $2,300
What does all this mean? The market has wiped out long positions twice and still hasn’t found institutional buyers — but the whale who opened a $45.3 million long position is betting that the bottom is near. The number itself will decide.
Quick question: Which level do you think will decide things today — $2,200 or $2,300? Write the number.
