😂 The crypto market has a new attraction: the exchange is still operating, but American banks have already been told not to say hello!

On November 6, the U.S. Treasury, through FinCEN, ordered American financial institutions to prohibit transfers of funds to and from MEXC. According to the agency, from May 2021 to May 2026, the platform processed at least $16 billion in transactions linked to sanctions evasion involving Iran, Russia, and North Korea, cybercrime, and other illicit schemes.

Important: this does not mean that all MEXC crypto assets will be automatically frozen or that every USDT that has ever passed through the exchange will be “tainted.” AML checks assess specific addresses and transactions. The order itself applies to transfers through U.S. financial institutions and will take effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.

Bottom line: this is serious news, but panicking and declaring all crypto contaminated would be premature.
