⚡ US RESTRICTS TRANSFERS INVOLVING MEXC

The US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has issued an order prohibiting certain money transfers through US financial institutions when the transaction involves the crypto exchange MEXC Global. The regulator considers it a source of heightened money-laundering risk due to illicit financial activity linked to Russia. According to FinCEN’s estimate, $16.7 billion in funds linked to such activity, sanctions evasion, and cybercrime passed through the platform between May 2021 and May 2026.

Important: this is a finding and measure by a US regulator, not a court ruling or an announcement that the exchange is shutting down globally. According to the published text of the order, the restrictions will take effect 30 days after the document is published in the Federal Register—the exact date has not yet been announced.
