Apple and Meta Platforms oppose plans by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, to launch tokenized stock trading. Of the 62 companies initially selected by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, 56 objected, or about 90%. Strategy, Coinbase, Circle, Robinhood, Securitize, and BitGo did not appear on the disclosed list of objectors, potentially concentrating the initially selected companies among those associated with the crypto industry. OKX and Intercontinental Exchange plan to offer continuous trading of tokenized U.S. stocks, with settlement in stablecoins. The deadline for objections from issuers listed in the October 4 notice expired this week, but OKX and Intercontinental Exchange may still have objections yet to disclose.
