Nigeria just banned algorithmic stablecoins.

Its central bank issued stablecoin licensing rules (The Block):
• Issuers need a license
• Algorithmic designs are prohibited

Africa's biggest crypto market is choosing sides: fully backed, regulated stablecoins in, UST-style experiments out.

Meanwhile, 24h flows show $USDC +$302M net inflow and $USDT +$55M, while BTC saw net outflows (TokenPost, 13:02 UTC). Money is parking in dollars, not leaving crypto.

My take: licensing favors big, transparent issuers. Watch whether other emerging markets copy this.

Will more countries ban algorithmic stablecoins by mid-2027? Yes or no?
