South Korea’s stock market hit a circuit breaker; Bitcoin was just dragged down with it 🚨

📉 The KOSPI plunged as much as 8.8% at the open this morning, falling below 5,000 points. The Korea Exchange triggered a circuit breaker at 9:03 and halted trading for 20 minutes. The Nikkei 225 also fell below 60,000 intraday (Sources: Yonhap/ChainCatcher/PANews).
📉 The trigger: Democrats won control of both chambers of the U.S. Congress, stoking concerns that regulations on AI data centers could tighten. AI chip stocks were sold off, and the Nasdaq plunged on Thursday.
📊 Crypto: BTC was down about 5.7% over 24 hours, hitting a low of around $75,200—a seven-week low. ETH fell about 8% to around $2,230. More than $1 billion was liquidated over 24 hours, with long positions making up about 95% of the total.
😨 Fear & Greed Index: 28 (Fear).
The chart shows Bithumb’s BTC/KRW 30-minute candles: the Korean premium market also sold off sharply, printing a large bearish candle.

🧭 My take: This downturn isn’t a crypto-specific problem; global risk assets are deleveraging at the same time. BTC is moving with the Nasdaq and Asian stocks. In the short term, watch the $75,000 level; if it doesn’t hold, the next area to watch is the previous low. On a rebound, the first question is whether BTC can reclaim $80,000.

What do you think after the U.S. market opens tonight: will BTC hold $75,000 or keep falling? See you in the comments 👇
