😂 Decentralization, they said. No one will be able to touch your money, they said. And then Polygon developers pulled out a virtual broom! 🧹

🪙 Following the Binance and Polymarket hacks, a hard fork was proposed on the Polygon network to return around 70.49 million POL, worth $6.5 million, to those affected.

The plan calls for zeroing out the balances of five hacker wallets and transferring the funds to verified Binance and Polymarket wallets. The total POL supply would remain unchanged.

⚡ But there’s a catch: the proposal hasn’t been approved yet. It will be presented for discussion on November 5.

So the blockchain is apparently so decentralized that sometimes developers can rewrite the rules of the game. And this is where things get interesting: where does protecting users end and manually controlling the network begin?
